Accelerated Reader (AR) is software for K-12 schools for monitoring the practice of reading. It was created by Renaissance Learning, Inc. At Lancaster Elementary, this computer program is used to help teachers and librarians manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice.
Parents, this link can help you help your child pick a book at his/her own level and read it at his/her own pace. When they have completed reading the book, they take a quiz on Accelerated Reader. Passing the quiz is an indication that your child understood what was read.
