Principal's Message

It’s hard to believe October is already here!  This has been quite a unique start to the school year, yet I am pleased to say that we are navigating this new normal together. I truly appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we are all making the best of what has been a very challenging situation.

Every day we are on a mission to teach and learn to the very best of our abilities and beyond.  This mission is possible as we believe in success against all odds  As we continue to educate and learn during these challenging times, please be patient with us and with your child.  Know that our teachers and staff are dedicated to problem solving, supporting, and meeting the learning needs of our students.

Parents, how can you help?  Continue to be supportive of your student and make reading a regular part of your daily or nightly routine.  All students have access to virtual books and can check out books with their virtual library card through their Launchpad – FOR FREE.  Directions are included in this newsletter.  Encourage students to participate in their learning.  They should never give up, even when things become difficult.   That is so important to the learning process.
Digital devices are used throughout the school day, even in face to face instruction.  Be sure to charge your laptop or iPad every night and send it to school with your child every day.

Remember, if your child is sick, it is best to keep them at home.  If your child does become sick at school, you will be required to pick up your student.  This is for everyone’s safety.

As a school wide communication tool, we will use Connect Orange which allows us to send text messages, emails and phone updates.  We use this to communicate changes coming from our OCPS district office so please be sure that your contact information is up-to-date in our system.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Clayton
Principal
