Back-to-School Year Info

The district has provided information regarding the reopening of schools.  Beginning August 10, all students will be provided instruction virtually through August 20.  Beginning August 21, students enrolled in the face-to-face option will return to school and those enrolled in [email protected] will continue to provided instruction virtually.

Plans remain to be fluid and frequently asked questions are address on the District's Reopening Plan website.  


Laptop Distribution

We are distributing devices Aug 5 - Aug 8. In order to service you efficiently, we need your assistance in the following 3 easy steps: 

1.  For safety reasons, please remain in your car for device pickup.    We ask that you drive in the car loop following our normal traffic patterns.  Please remember to wear your masks.

2.  To help expedite bringing a device to you, please write your student's name and grade level as large as you can on a piece of paper so that we can service you from your car.  

3.  Please have identification ready.  

Hours of operation:
Thursday 8:30a-3:00p
Friday 9:00a-3:00p
Saturday 9a-12p - We ask that you arrive by no later than 11:30am as we will end promptly at noon.

Using Your OWN Device (BYOD)

It is recommended that your child use a district provided laptop for instruction.  However, if you wish to use your personal laptop, it must be registered for use on the OCPS network.  The registration form can be found BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) at https://www.ocps.net/cms/one.aspx?portalId=54703&pageId=88548

Hotspots

The district has a limited number of hotspots for families who have no access to Internet.  Hotspots are issued based upon online request at https://www.ocps.net/cms/one.aspx?portalId=54703&pageId=985005.  The form is at the bottom of the page.  If you are issued a hotspot, it will be delivered to the school and Lancaster will call once it is ready.

Thank you for your patience as we work through reopening our schools. 

To date, Friday, August 21, is the tentative start date for students but is subject to change.  The School Board has submitted a waiver request to locally determine the start date of face-to-face instruction.  Please keep in mind all plans are fluid and we will inform you of any adjustments.

Families are being asked to submit a Choice Registration Form to indicate which instructional model is preferred.  When completing the form, you will need your child's student identification number.  In order to prepare for the start of school, submit your preferences by Friday, July 24.
